I am an attorney in Pittsburgh, PA who is borderline obsessed with health and fitness. I started my treck into fitness when I was in high school. It became a hobby and through a Men's Health Magazine subscription, I began my education. I started training while in undergraduate school. I first trained elderly people with introductions to machines and very basic movements. I progressed to designing entry level programs for people who wanted to start "getting into shape."
When I started into Law School, fitness, as a stress relief, and nutrition for fuel became a top priority. I took up different types of exercises like the stationary bike and the heavy bag in an effort to ward off boredom with the traditional weight lifting regime. Then, in 2008, my brother introduced me to CrossFit. At first, I did not see its true genius. I was in the middle of a failing engagement, trying to find a job for after law school, and preparing to make the transition from a life of schooling to a career life. However, during the Spring of 2009, as my life took a huge turn, I decided that CrossFit was a new path.
Soon, I was was obsessed with all things CrossFit. I watched all of the videos, learned most of the lifts, and started spreading the word. I adopted the Zone diet while I studied for the Bar Exam and used daily WOD's at the YMCA to clear my mind and work off the building anxiety over the Exam. After the Bar, my learning process continued and I became more in touch with what I was putting in my body. I earned my Level 1 CrossFit Certification in July of 2010.
Today, I work my full time job as an attorney and spend the rest of my time reading, talking, and learning about all things healthful. I am a part-time CrossFit trainer and try to share my knowledge with anyone and everyone who will listen. I started this blog in an effort to bring all of my knowledge and learning to one easily accessible place. My hope is to share my experience and what I learn so that others may benefit and live healthier lives.
